JUNE 2019

Winter has arrived and wow is it cold, we would like to reminder all parents and guardians to feel free to pop into the pavilion and grab a tea or coffee in the warmth on training nights, also remind the kids to grab an extra layer of clothing, to keep them warm also.

We’ve seen some fantastic games of football and the kids are all continuing to improve their skills, it is great to see all the fun that is being had out on the oval. WJFNC would like to congratulate Jarvis Sleep on playing his 50th Game.

The Club sent kids from Under 12 and Under 14 teams off to Inter league a few weeks ago. Training with the best kids our league has to offer. After training with the groups only 2 had been chosen to represent Wandong. Under 12s Katlyn Cook and under 14s Lucas Pettit, Katlyn being named in his teams top 5. Well done boys.

May 20 – 26 was National Volunteers Week the WJFNC would like to thank and celebrate all our awesome volunteers that support our Club and also recognise the countless volunteers throughout our shire, state and Australia wide, you truly are incredible, generous people and we are truly grateful and appreciative for all that you do. THANKYOU!!

We are at mid season and it is time to think about season 2020. There are many roles to fill within our Committee and many hands make for light work. Please consider becoming a part of the WJFNC Committee, without your support the Club cannot continue to run, so turn your thoughts into actions and attend our upcoming meeting on the 11th of June or 9th July to see how you can help support the Club and ensure the kids make it to the field.

There are many outgoing Committee members for 2019 and all Executive Roles must be filled for the Club to move forward in 2020. Please have a chat to any of the current Committee members and ask them how rewarding it can be!

Our upcoming games are Sunday 16th June 2019 V Broadford (Home), 23rd June V Alexandra (Away), 30th June V Seymour (Away), 14th July 2019 V Euroa (Home).

As always, we encourage all Parents and Guardians to support on game days, to ensure the kids make it to the field. Each age group has a game day roster, that the Team Managers organise, so please make sure you turn up when you are rostered on or contact your Team Manager. If all jobs that are required, are not filled on game day, we will have no choice but to forfeit that match. It is no more than 1.5 hour or less of your time to be a part of your child’s sport.
